We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join a busy quality team in a fast-paced food production environment as a Quality Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role offering the opportunity to take ownership of quality control and assurance processes for chilled products.
This position is ideal for someone looking to lead a team, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in upholding food safety and quality standards during backshift operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of quality control activities across the chilled product range throughout the backshift
- Build and maintain robust quality assurance procedures that meet regulatory and internal standards
- Guide and coach the quality team, offering hands-on training and ongoing support
- Carry out inspections, audits, and quality checks to spot opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with production and supply chain colleagues to resolve quality concerns and boost process performance
- Review quality metrics and data trends, presenting findings and improvement recommendations to senior leadership
- Keep stakeholders clearly informed on quality standards and compliance matters
Requirements
- Confident leadership style, with the ability to guide and inspire a team toward shared goals
- Comfortable working with data, drawing out insights and translating them into clear reports
- Strong people skills, able to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels
- Flexible approach to backshift working, with a proactive attitude to resolving issues as they arise
Experience & Qualifications
- Background in quality management within a food manufacturing setting, ideally with chilled/fresh product lines
- Solid grasp of quality assurance fundamentals, food safety legislation, and relevant industry benchmarks
- Track record of running audits and putting quality control measures into practice
- Comfortable using quality management systems and standard Microsoft Office tools
- HACCP qualification and familiarity with BRC standards would be an advantage
