Senior Project Engineering Manager – Glasgow – Competitive Salary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Engineering Manager to join a growing EMEA team delivering complex energy infrastructure projects. This role focuses on Electrical Grid, Substation, and Battery Energy Storage System developments across Medium and High Voltage networks.
You will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing project delivery, and interfacing directly with clients to ensure the successful execution of technically demanding projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering delivery across multiple projects of varying size and complexity
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical outputs
- Act as the primary technical interface with clients, managing scope changes and project requirements
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on engineering standards, design practices, and compliance
- Oversee and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians
- Support business development activities, including proposals and client engagement
- Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive project performance, quality, and timely delivery
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Significant industry experience
- Proven expertise in substation design and electrical infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of:
- UK Grid Code
- TSO/DNO requirements
- UK power utilities landscape
- Demonstrated experience in project execution and delivery ownership
- Ability to confidently engage with clients on technical matters
- Strong knowledge of Medium and High Voltage network design principles
- Understanding of construction, procurement, and contract management
- Experience with project controls, estimating, and proposal development
- Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
