Procurement Manager (Buyer)

A slice of cheesecake with a cuppa and a catch up. A rich, chocolatey brownie to mark the start of the weekend. Sticky toffee pudding to end a dinner the right way. Aulds Delicious Desserts have been part of our kitchen tables for over 120 years. Are you ready to become part of that history?

A family run business that is forward thinking, Aulds has diversified its portfolio of products to include vegan options and frozen treats. As the new Procurement Manager for their Delicious Desserts division, you’ll be a big part of this continuous search for improvement and change.

You want to be part of a company that is more focused on being the best at what it does, not necessarily the biggest.

You’ll be office based, mainly in Inchinnan with some travel to the Greenock office. But this isn’t a desk job. Instead, you’ll be engaging with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that Aulds thrives and evolves.

What does the day to day look like?

  • Working with the development team, identifying new trends and finding the ingredients to meet these trends
  • Analysing the spend in the different areas of the business to identify sourcing and negotiation opportunities
  • Building long term relationships with suppliers to ensure good working relationships, market knowledge and a reliable supplier base
  • Ongoing supplier performance management and the maintenance of supplier scorecards
  • Working to budgets, setting and achieving cost and stockholding targets

What’s in it for me?

  • A competitive salary
  • Flexible / hybrid working arrangements
  • A benefits package that includes staff discounts
  • Easily accessible and pleasant working locations across Auld’s two main sites

Do I need to know anything else?

  • You’ll have a procurement background, from food or a similar industry
  • You’re creative and motivated – you’re someone who likes a “hands on” approach
  • You can take a measured approach within a fast-paced environment and are able to communicate change effectively

If this Procurement Manager role in one of Scotland’s best known food manufacturing brands sounds like the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you. Send your CV to Diane Smedley – dsmedley@hrcrecruitment.co.uk to take the next steps.
