Maintenance Assistant- Ayrshire

Overview-

We are looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Department with a wide range of general maintenance and site upkeep tasks. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented working environment.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Carry out all work in accordance with health, safety and environmental legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Report any unsafe acts, hazards or unsafe working conditions to line management.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with operating instructions and relevant work documentation.
  • Demonstrate competence through the completion of required training and assessments, with an understanding of the hazards, risks and control measures associated with each task.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within work areas.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople, including joiners, with maintenance activities.
  • Carry out general site clearance and waste removal.
  • Undertake litter picking and site tidiness duties.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  • Carry out seasonal grass cutting and grounds maintenance.
  • Complete painting and decorating tasks.
  • Assist with concrete repairs and paving/slabbing work.
  • Carry out seasonal gritting and other weather-related maintenance activities.

Essential Skills & Experience-

  • Experience carrying out a variety of practical maintenance tasks.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Knowledge of basic building materials and construction methods.
  • Good basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Physically able to lift and carry heavy loads.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications-

  • CSCS Card.
  • PASMA Certification.
  • IPAF Licence.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Forklift Licence.
  • Telehandler Licence.

Salary/Benefits-

  • Up to £28,000 per annum, depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
