Machine Shop Supervisor

They are looking for a talented individual to become a leader of their fabrication & machine shop team. You should have previous experience working in a similar role, be energetic, & motivated to work on your own initiative or as part of the team. The role entails encouraging welders & machine operators to produce quality components in the best possible time frame. The person to fill this post must have the ability to operate various machine tools with a speciality on conventional horizontal boring. This role will require standard hours to be worked, typically 06:00 to 14:30 Monday to Thursday & 06:00 to 13:30 Friday, however starting and finishing times can be flexible.

To be considered for this role you must have:

Previous experience as a machine operator with supervisory skills.

Work with & encourage others to have the correct attitude to do the best they can for the company to work as a team.

The ability to read mechanical detail drawings and understand the machining requirement from these.

Skill operating various machine tools & specialising on conventional horizontal boring.

 

The main duties of this position are the following:

Motivate team to produce 1st class quality product & get all to work together.

Specialise in the setup and operation of a convention horizontal boring machine.

Operate various other machine tools: lathe; milling machine; drill etc.

Produce component parts from conventional engineering drawings and specifications in a timely manner and to high standards.

Work to tight engineering tolerances.

Inspect and measure own work throughout the manufacturing process.

Assist in the creation of standard working procedures for typical processes.

Work as part of a team to contribute to the continuous improvement of the department, via productivity or efficiency improvements.

Adhere to good housekeeping practice, to ensure all equipment and working areas are kept clean and tidy.

Salary c£45,000 + excellent bonus
