Legal Counsel (Litigation) - Greater Glasgow
We are currently seeking an experienced Solicitor with a proven track record in the field of Consumer Arrears and Civil Litigation. As a successful candidate, you will play a crucial role in managing legal cases, resolving disputes, and safeguarding our client's reputation.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Legal Expertise:
- Qualified Solicitor: You hold a valid solicitor qualification with up to three years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Consumer Debt Recovery: Experience in the finance or consumer debt recovery sector is highly desirable.
- Civil Litigation: Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including Pre-Action Protocols.

Effective Case Management:
- Proactive Approach: Manage defended or complex cases proactively to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Revenue Enhancement: Review non-moving cases within the pipeline and implement strategies to increase revenue and collections.
- Timely Execution: Ensure internal and external processing volumes and deadlines are met, including claims, document requests, defenses, and enforcement activities.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with other business stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Decision Science, Strategy) to drive continuous improvement.
- Legal Guidance: Seek advice from Legal Counsel and Compliance to mitigate risks effectively.

Litigation Process:
- Negotiation and Enforcement: Engage with customers, legal representatives, and third parties throughout the litigation process. Aim for suitable outcomes through negotiation and, when necessary, enforcement.
- Court Directions and Orders: Handle court directions and orders efficiently.

Skills and Attributes:
- Communication and Negotiation: Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- IT Literacy: Proficient in IT tools and systems.
- Business Acumen: Ability to stay informed about relevant changes in collections and legal industries.
