About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and hands-on Hygiene Manager to take the lead on site standards within a busy production environment. The role will oversee the Hygiene Team, ensure robust cleaning and compliance practices are maintained, and identify opportunities to strengthen processes and drive continuous improvement across the operation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, supporting audit readiness, and ensuring the site consistently meets its technical and microbiological targets. Working closely with the Technical Manager and wider production team, they will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on standards, compliance, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Hygiene Team, overseeing rotas, training, development, and performance
- Manage site cleaning programmes, audits, and deep-cleaning activities
- Coordinate specialist cleans, including equipment strip-downs where required
- Work with the Technical Manager on pest control, audits, and site compliance
- Carry out regular site inspections to ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained
- Monitor key technical measures, including microbiological performance, HACCP, and equipment release
- Investigate hygiene and microbiological issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Manage relationships with chemical suppliers and maintain effective hygiene systems and records
- Identify and implement improvements to hygiene processes, equipment standards, and the Hygiene QMS
- Ensure all relevant health, safety, hygiene, and food safety requirements are consistently met

- Resilient and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to ongoing improvement
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
