Role Overview:
As Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring operational efficiency. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
- Leadership and Oversight:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy finance function, including effective line management within the team.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance Director and Financial Controller to achieve departmental targets.
- Team Development:
- Coordinate staff development initiatives, conducting regular staff appraisals and fostering professional growth
- Facilitate one-on-one sessions to support team members’ career progression.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
- Present financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) during internal and to clients.
- Budgeting and Control:
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain day-to-day control over all aspects of profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet management.
- Client Interaction:
- Address ad hoc customer requests promptly and effectively, meeting required deadlines.
- Develop financial reporting structures that enhance business value.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ensure our customer-facing finance colleagues meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide comprehensive financial reports, including primary financial reports, trading dashboards, and divisional and client financial information.
- Performance Evaluation:
- Continuously review and report actual financial performance against budget.
- Back up your insights with clear documentation and explanations, adding value to our decision-making processes.
- Process Excellence:
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant: Ideally ACCA, CIMA, or CA, with relevant post-qualification experience (2-3 years+). Qbe’s with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
- Experience: Proven track record as a finance manager role or an outstanding candidate ready for the next step. Excellent technical knowledge in management accounting, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Client Focus: Experience working within a client-driven environment, understanding and delivering business requirements.
- Interpersonal Skills: Confidence and strong communication skills when interfacing with internal/external stakeholders at all levels.
- People Management: Proven track record of managing staff including 121’s
