The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Planner to join a fast-paced Manufacturing environment. This is a key role responsible for planning and scheduling all preventative, planned and corrective maintenance activities, while also managing engineering stores and stock levels.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager, Operations and the wider engineering team, you will ensure maintenance activities are well prepared, prioritised and delivered safely, efficiently and in line with site and business objectives. The role plays a critical part in reducing reactive maintenance, improving asset health and supporting overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and prioritise all preventative, planned and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring work is prepared at least one week in advance where possible.
- Develop and continuously improve maintenance plans, including labour, materials and tooling requirements.
- Build and maintain an achievable weekly maintenance schedule aligned with site priorities, labour availability and operational constraints.
- Lead the weekly scheduling process, working closely with Engineering, Operations and key stakeholders.
- Manage engineering stores, including parts ordering, stock control, audits and supplier performance reviews.
- Create detailed maintenance work packs to support efficient execution.
- Maintain accurate CMMS (CARL) data and act as the site super/key user, ensuring system compliance.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs to improve schedule compliance, reduce downtime and support data-driven decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning and scheduling, supporting RCA activities.
- Ensure all activities comply with HSE standards and site policies.
Experience & Skills required:
- Proven experience as an Engineering Planner in a manufacturing environment (FMCG desirable).
- Strong CMMS experience, including planning, scheduling and data management.
- Experience managing purchase orders, administration and coordination tasks.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Confident user of MS Excel, planning tools and data analysis.
- Clear and effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Data-driven, detail-focused and safety-conscious.
- Proactive, results-focused team player able to work independently and manage priorities under pressure.
