Position:  Conveyancer Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Location:  Edinburgh / Hybrid Working

Salary:  Up to £35,000 per annum

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Conveyancer to join the gorgeous Edinburgh offices of our client.

As a Conveyancer, you will play a crucial role in handling property transactions from reservation to settlement. Your attention to detail, legal expertise, and client-focused approach will contribute to our clients’ satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation of Plot Sale Paperwork:
    • Drafting offers and relevant sales documentation.
    • Negotiating missives.
    • Managing financial tasks and completion statements.
    • Handling settlement procedures, including billing and accounts.
  2. Title Management:
    • Addressing observations on title.
    • Managing registration procedures, including Advance Notices and utilizing LBTT online.
  3. Part Exchange Properties:
    • Facilitating the purchase and re-sale of part exchange properties.
    • Examining Part Exchange titles.
  4. Client Interaction:
    • Preparing client reports.
    • Attending client meetings.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    • Procuring conveyancing searches.
    • Handling incoming phone calls and post.
    • Producing BigHand dictations and reviewing work.
  6. File Management:
    • Initiating and closing files.
    • Managing account balances.
  7. Software Proficiency:
    • Utilizing the plots case management system, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and BigHand.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality and accurate service to our clients.
  • Managing client expectations effectively.
  • Attending team briefings as required.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to self-development and relevant qualifications.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior Experience: Experience in conveyancing or working within plot sales is preferable.
  • Independent Caseload Management: Ability to manage your own caseload without administrative support.
  • IT Literacy: Proficient in using software tools and adhering to the firm’s IT policies.
  • Mentoring: Willingness to provide mentoring to other staff when required.
