Are you a Buyer from a Heavy Engineering or Energy background with experience in international markets, seeking an exciting and varied role within an industry-leading specialist known for investing in its staff? Look no further! You’ll be stepping into a highly autonomous role where no two days are the same. As a Buyer, you'll receive comprehensive training on our bespoke products and parts, empowering you to influence the success of our business.

What the role looks like:

  • Support the Tendering function with competitive pricing for project contracts.
  • Maintain Supplier database.
  • Work in a cross-functional team to coordinate bidders' queries and select the successful supplier.
  • Negotiate with key suppliers for discounts, savings, and advantageous terms.
  • Responsible for Commercial Bid Tabs and recommendations.
  • Establish Framework/Supplier Agreements where possible.
  • Manage key suppliers with the Project team, ensuring performance improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Expedite orders and proactively propose solutions to identified issues.
  • Support the Procurement Manager with contract terminations, claims, and disputes as required.
  • Prepare and administer facilities orders as required.
  • Travel to customer sites globally, primarily in the UK, Europa, and Asia.

Experienced required:

  • Extensive procurement experience, demonstrating leadership and delivering results.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, competitive bidding, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in strategic procurement within an engineering environment.
  • MCIPS or degree qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of achieving objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to influence others.
  • Financial acumen and commitment to fiscal responsibility.
  • Ability to visualize, communicate, and drive solutions to business and procurement challenges.
