Material Planner - 15 month FTC

Are you an experienced material planner with a keen eye for detail and a passion for supply chain efficiency? My client is looking for a Material Planner to manage the flow of materials and components, ensuring that production runs smoothly in their fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate the supply of materials/components from suppliers and storage facilities to meet production demands.
  • Day-to-day management of orders and deliveries, ensuring materials arrive on time.
  • Maintain supplier stock and safety stock levels, addressing any material shortages that could affect production.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring stock levels and managing delivery schedules.
  • Utilise Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to ensure data accuracy and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives and support quarterly meetings to evaluate performance.
  • Support inventory checks to validate accuracy and assist with new product development (NPD) projects.
  • Contribute to achieving key Material Planning and Planning KPIs, while continuously identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Material Planning role, ideally within the drinks industry (preferred but not essential) or a similar fast-paced sector.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and solid numeracy capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and good working knowledge of MRP systems.
  • A team player with excellent problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
