Multi-skilled engineer / Glasgow
Are you a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a passion for engineering? Our client, a leading company in the production and operations industry, is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanically biased) to join their team in Glasgow. As a key member of the engineering department, you will play a crucial role in supporting site production, operations, and development, ensuring the smooth functioning of all equipment and infrastructure.
Purpose of the role:
In this role, reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills in maintaining various aspects of the site, including Drain and Fill, Warehousing, Vatting, Tanker Operations, Bottling Lines, and Offices. By utilizing the company's MMS (Maintenance Management System), you will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of site operations.
Your dedication to continuous improvement will be valued as you actively participate in installation works and collaborate closely with contractors on ongoing site development projects. By identifying and resolving issues, you will contribute to the success and growth of the company.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in delivering work to the highest standards while adhering to relevant legislation. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills are essential, along with the ability to think beyond initial problems and drive permanent and continuous improvement solutions.
Are you who we're looking for?
- Time served with a recognized Engineering qualification
- Experience in both production and maintenance, preferably in a FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment, with specific experience in Bottling
- Working knowledge of Hazardous Areas/Compex and Siemens PLC's would be advantageous
What does a day to day look like?
- Maintaining and repairing site equipment and infrastructure, ensuring their optimal functionality
- Collaborating with the engineering team to support production, operations, and development initiatives
- Utilizing the company's MMS to document and track maintenance activities
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime
- Actively participating in installation works and liaising with contractors on site development projects
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and driving implementation of permanent solutions
