Lab Technician – South Lanarkshire – £23,000 - £26,000 DOE – Rotational shift work

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to job a global leading organisation. You will be responsible for completing analytical testing of all samples in accordance with this clients Quality System, Work Instructions and SHE requirements to ensure a safe and timely response to both production and customers. You will ensure that all analytical test results are accurate and reliable, and are recorded, documented, and reported in the appropriate laboratory records ledgers, LIMs system and in accordance with control plans in a timely way.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively carry out routine analytical testing to monitor all compliance criteria.
- Effectively carry out routine analytical testing of products, processes and raw material supplies.
- Carry out any other testing as required / instructed by the Quality Manager.
- Carry out repeat sampling and testing of products, processes, or raw materials which do not comply with quality or compliance specifications.
- Work effectively as part of a laboratory analysis team.
- Report laboratory analysis exceptions to the Quality Manager of depute, or in their absence, the appropriate Shift Manager.
- Co-operate with the introduction of new procedures and or new equipment/ technology.
- Develop an understanding of the applicational and commercial criteria for product success.
- Develop an understanding of activated carbon science and technology.
- Accountable to the Quality Manager for all daily test routines.
- Undertake all training required to fulfil required duties and improve skill sets.
- All other duties that may be reasonably required within the remit of the role
Qualifications:
- Qualified to degree level in a science based discipline or qualified by experience.
- Capability to demonstrate and deliver timely, accurate and repeatable test results.
- Experience in the use of Analytical Instruments and Wet Chemistry.
- Understanding and application of required lab test methods and GLP.
- Chemical safety requirements for laboratories, including proper disposal of special waste materials.
- Ability to organise/prioritise workload.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
As this position is working in a production lab environment and supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations, we are looking for someone with similar background e.g. food and drink industries. This position requires you to be flexible with working hours as it is rotational shift work.
