HRC Recruitment is excited to offer an experienced Internal Auditor the opportunity to a join a a global corporate in Glasgow as Internal Audit Manager within their Glasgow city centre office. It is a fantastic chance for an experienced individual to take the next step in their career at manager level where you will be working alongside a leading FS Audit team.
As a Manager within the Finance audit team, you will assist in the completion of its annual audit plan by performing audit test design and evaluations, identifying areas requiring control enhancements, providing recommendations for control improvements and assisting with continuous monitoring of key business activities. Audited functions within the firms’ Finance organisation include Financial accounting and records, Regulatory Reporting & Change, Accounting Policy, Tax and SOX processes.
How the day to day will look:
- Performing risk assessments at the audit entity and process level and determining if key controls exist to mitigate inherent risks
- Preparing audit planning documentation, conduct walkthroughs, and assess the internal control environment through control and substantive testing
- Evaluating the adequacy of design and effectiveness of key controls and potential business concerns by analysing available documentation and asking insightful questions to identify root causes and draw the appropriate conclusions
- Documenting the results of work performed in the Department's automated workpaper system according to Departmental methodologies and documentation standards
- Developing and documenting audit findings in a clear and concise manner; communicate observations to line management; document business concerns, risks and root causes; and secure formal management responses to audit recommendations for inclusion in the Audit Report
- Holding follow-up meetings concerning open audit actions with line management quarterly
Are you who we are looking for?
- Qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant internal or external audit experience gained within practice, financial services or industry
- You will have a solid understanding of internal audit processes including identifying and evaluating key risks, developing conduct audit testing, documenting work performed and presenting findings identified
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, resolve challenging issues with innovative ideas
- Strong written, communication and presentation skills along with strong quantitive and qualitive analytical skills
