What the day to day could look like:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of goods and services to meet the needs of the business in line with the company's procurement strategy:
- You will support the tendering function by securing competitive pricing for project contracts.
- You will work in a cross-functional team to coordinate bidders' queries and select the successful supplier.
- You will negotiate with key suppliers to achieve discounts, savings, and advantageous terms.
- You will prepare and organize procurement meetings.
- You will be responsible for commercial bid tabs, commercial recommendations, and ensuring that selected suppliers are approved.
- You will prepare and maintain purchase orders.
- You will establish framework/supplier agreements where possible.
- You will work with the project team in managing key suppliers, ensuring performance improvement and risk mitigation.
- You will expedite orders and proactively identify and solve any issues.
- You will contribute to the company's procurement KPIs.
- You will conduct a closeout review/scorecard of the order/supplier's performance.
- You will support the logistics team.
- You will undertake any other duties required from time to time, in line with company objectives.
- You will ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.

- You have experience working in cross-functional teams in a project procurement environment.
- You have attention to detail throughout the purchase order process.
- You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You have strong communication skills.
- You can manage change effectively.
- You build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal teams throughout the business.
- You are proficient in various ERP systems and have the ability to learn new systems as required. Experience in JD Edwards/Latis, IFS, and Google Suites is an advantage.
- You have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You adhere to ethical standards in procurement practices and financial transactions.
- You are a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate commitment to set tasks.
- You manage your time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- You are enthusiastic and have an aspiration to build a career in procurement.
Essential Professional Qualities:
- You have 2 years of project procurement experience.
- You are professionally competent.
- You have international procurement experience.
- You are able to travel at short notice.
- You are an excellent written and verbal communicator at all levels.
- You have strong numerical and data analysis skills.
Desirable Professional Qualities:
- You are educated to degree level in a relevant subject or have an equivalent qualification.
- You have a CIPS qualification or are working towards a CIPS qualification.
- You have experience in the oil and gas or heavy industry sectors.
