The Worst Jobs Ever
30 June 2017
We’ve all been there. Hunched over our desks, workload piling up, surrounded by inane chatter thinking “This has got to be the worst job in the world”. We’ve drawn the short straw; lost the raffle; been genuinely unlucky.
However, we can assure you, no matter how bad it gets … You definitely don’t have the worst job ever. In fact, we’ve been doing some research and there are some pretty terrible jobs out there.
Take a look at our list, and wonder how desperate you’d need to be for a move in order to take on one of these jobs!
It’s fairly common for animal manure to be used as a natural fertilizer. But did you know it has to meet certain standards before it can be used? In comes the Manure Inspector, making sure that all the animal droppings are suitable for re-use. Yuck.
Pet Food Taster
Well, a cat or dog can’t speak or write down their reaction to a new brand of food. So, some pet food suppliers actually pay humans to try the grub out before it hits the market. That’s one job where it is okay to make a dog’s dinner of it …
Theme park rides are often subject to technical difficulties – but what happens when the ride operators aren’t quite sure what the problem is? They’ll send some poor, brave human racing along the track to spot what the issue is. Better hope it’s not the seatbelts!
Deodorant manufacturers hire employees to sniff people’s armpits to determine the effects of their products on their sweat / odour. If you thought being tucked under someone’s BO on your commute was bad …
Some poor souls have genuinely stood, arms outstretched in tatty clothes, in the middle of a field making noises to scare away the hungry birds overhead. We wonder if this is one for part-time actors, who might really get into character and make it amusing.
Paint Drying Watcher
If you’ve ever said you’d rather watch paint dry, now you can. Paint companies need to know how quickly their product dries, and the effect the drying process has on the colour. Therefore, they hire someone to monitor the process. D-U-L-L.
Can you believe these are all real jobs? Makes us feel a little bit better!
